Decaf coffee is definitely recognized by the FDA and there are regulations that limit the amount of solvent residue that they use to remove the caffeine. It’s not the same product as coffee, and actually by giving people decaf, you are making people consume chemical residues that they did not sign up to consume. It’s illegal for serious reasons.

Simply put, the switching doesn’t do anything by itself. It’s the meaning we assign to the arrangement of on-off switches.
