Okay, I’m a bitwarden user who hasn’t been online much in the last couple weeks because of school. Bit ootl. Wtf happened exactly?
I thought bitwarden was open source?
If you’re using excel anyway, you’re probably not super worried about using non open source software. In which case, I find Google sheets to perfect. I use it for almost everything, because it’s just easier to use Google’s office suite for my school than it would be to use libre office, since everything backs up immediately across devices. I’ve never had any complaints about compatibility or format, and I’m literally being graded on my shit. I’d be preferable to use only open source software, from like a philosophical standpoint, but I also need things to function well in a world that expects automatic saving across devices and flawless compatibility to the arbitrary standard of Microsoft office
Once it’s back, I’ll definitely do that. It’s still not available as of yet.
I honestly don’t know how I’d get it until it comes back. I can download through the podcast app, but until then, to my knowledge, it’s completely lost anywhere other than archive.org Even the original blog it was posted to back in 2010 doesn’t have the audiofiles anymore, just links to the archive.org
I use a podcast app, and apparently it pulls from there. I never knew before it went down. But I tried a bunch of different apps over the course of this, and they all pull from that.
I realize it’s like the least important aspect of this, but yay! My podcast is back! I listen to Lawrence Manzo’s Mahabharata podcast every night to go to sleep, and I haven’t slept well since the attack
Dang, that would have been a cool one to see!
I’d love to see what those looked like back in the day. I love computer history, even if I don’t fully understand it. Haha
I don’t do anything in depth enough for those things to really impact me. I’m mostly a browser and Google docs person. Honestly, my biggest gripe with fedora isn’t even a fedora problem, it’s just that anytime I look up how to do something, it gives Debian based instructions and I get a little lost trying to figure out how to do it on fedora.
Y’all making me want to try Ubuntu again. It was go to whenever I dual booted, but finally made the full time switch to fedora a while back. Maybe I should dual boot fedora/Ubuntu for the fun of it. Haha.
I wonder if someone could still install boot root? I’m not a techy person, but I’d watch the hell out of that YouTube video!
Yes. I see people with multiple subscriptions, including like yt and Spotify, and I don’t understand why. Lol Do the offer services offer something other than just ad free listening that you wouldn’t get with yt music?
Honest question, why should I be paying for a music streaming app when I already have YouTube premium? Also, does no one use Pandora anymore? I still use it occasionally.
If you want to care for an animal that needs it, but can’t afford it, check with your local animal shelter. There are often local orgs that need people to foster Pets, and will provide food and vet care while they’re in your care. It’s an amazing feeling, helping these animals find their forever homes. But it can heartbreaking, too, so make sure you’re emotionally ready for it if you do it
Bulbs v switches is actually why it took me so long to get them to begin in. Having bulbs, inherently disposable things, full of tech seems… Less than ideal. But where I live, the electrical is rough. Like, we have 1 circuit, the light circuit. Everything else is messed up and turned off at the box, including all the 220s, except for the water heater. Run everything off power strips and have to turn everything off to cook. Lol. I don’t want to mess with the electrical in this house. I want to move. Lol
In October of last year my mom came home from the ICU, now unable to get out of bed. I replaced all the bulbs in the house with smart bulbs and put the fans on a little smart plug thing. It made me really like the idea of home smart home features, but I’m not techy. They’re just Alexa enabled for her to use with the fire stick, and I use google home on my phone for em.
Can you offer any advice for ones that don’t require internet? Every time our power goes out (any time there’s a storm), I have to go around and reset them while they flash at me like the worst night club
Pee dreams can feel crazy real unfortunately lol
Nah, plenty of kids bedwet at that age. I had a few incidents around that time. I’ve also, as an adult, twice had a dream where I thought I was peeing and it seemed too real. Once I barely made it to the bathroom, once… Well, pee happens, I guess. Lol. D:
It’s been pretty helpful in writing fantasy, but most of what it spits out is sort of… Surface level kids stuff, to be honest. But it has helped come up with a few interesting twists when I’m stuck. It’s not something they could write a story for you, but it has helped when I need, like, “I have scene A, in which X happens, and even C, in which y happens, help me bridge them by writing scene B.” It’ll give me some sort of like bedtime story level writing, and then I go in and completely redo it, but it gets me unstuck. The paid ones may be better, but I’m not spending money on them, I just use the free ones.
