Yeah, I don’t get it. I was confused and not happy when I saw he was running again. He could’ve gone out like a heavily watered down LBJ, instead he’s going to be forever remembered as the lost nursing home patient who wandered onto the debate stage. This is an unmitigated disaster, and the only way forward I see now is have Joe step down and let Kamala be the president. I’m not excited for that prospect, but I assume she can at least win a debate against a potted plant.

Gas prices mean nothing if you can take the train. Every time gas prices jump, people start thinking about alternatives. Might be pretty sick, actually.

Those tech bros are up to something

I’ve got mixed feelings on Newsom. He’s definitely part of the corporate Democrat enclave but he’s also a reasonably effective governor. He’s called the DNC out for not being aggressive enough, but I simultaneously doubt that Newsom would represent any meaningful change to that status quo. He kind of feels like Obama 2.0 to me. He’d be over hyped on the left as the second coming of FDR, and on the right as the second coming of Lenin himself, and in practice he’d be another pretty centrist pro-imperialist/corporatist.

I’m 99% sure it is. The only hesitation is that the Trump presidency was so unhinged that you could make all manner of nonsense up and it would seem truthy. There was a whole thing where the owner of Goya beans endorsed him or something and Trump and his cult got really weird about buying and promoting Goya products for like a month.

I am a computer programmer, this is exactly how it works. Why else do you think electronics have fans in them if not to blow fresh, crisp wifi in and stale, soggy wifi out?
