They were both more or less fluent, though his dad less so: My friend’s dad, trying to order an extra rare steak: “A bloody steak, please” Waiter, without missing a beat: “Certainly, sir. Would you like some fucking potatoes with that?”

Reminds me of the first time a friend of mine and his dad went to London. They were both more or less fluent, though his dad less so:
My friend’s dad, trying to order an extra rare steak: “A bloody steak, please”
